Their history as tireless hunters of wild boar and hare means they possess an incredible nose and an independent streak that makes them truly fascinating. They’re known for their distinctive, melodic bay, a sound that, while beautiful to some, can certainly carry. At home, they are affectionate and relatively calm, enjoying a good cuddle after a day of exploring. However, their hunting instincts are strong; a securely fenced yard and consistent leash training are non-negotiable for these scent-driven adventurers.
